Since Dune has been designed as highly modular and indefinitely expandable system, its capable to fit most spatial situations. Each Dune element is 3D-molded out of one whole100% recyclable Eternit cellulose fiber-cement panel. »

RR Chair

For Use/Numen presented this new projects at the latest Milan Design Week.

“Three variations are based on Richard Riemerschmid’s ‘Musikstuhl’ from year 1899. Beside the fact that the chair is an icon of German Jugendstil, it’s construction with bold diagonal bar presents an almost perfect solution for the basic static problem of a chair. This characteristic was taken as a concept for constructional and formal exploration. Seemingly identical, each of variations has a specific form derived from the starting dominant diagonal. The final derivation is a tripod chair of a typographical level of graphic definition.”

Gut Oggau Wine Faces

The Gut Oggau Wine Estate is an Austrian wine growing estate that produce nine wines which differ in character and age. Jung von Matt has been ask to come up with a new identity for these wines. Just like every human has its own individual character ranging from young to mature, playful to complex. Jung von Matt (Hamburg’s advertising agency) assigned a comic-like style face, a name and a story to these different attributes. Eventually this led to a typical family clan with grandparents, parents and children.

Concrete curtain

By Memux

« The betonvorhang consists of only two elements: concrete cushions are attached to one another through a solid fabric and form a texture that is reminiscent of a quilt. Since the carrier material is flexible, it takes on the shape of a curtain that convolves like textile and can be pushed aside just like a textile curtain. The betonvorhang can serve many different purposes and has excellent sound-absorbing and heat-absorbing and -storing qualities. In outdoor installations, it can thus serve as an effective sun or windscreen, a privacy screen or facade element, while indoors it may serve as a room partition. »

« limited fungi » and « limited moths » are part of the RealLimited series, which points out limitations in reality.

An endangered Austrian fungi species is figured in tin, growing on an old ‘rotten’ wooden board.
Each tin mushroom is numbered and represents one mushroom left in reality. A part of the generated money goes to the project ‘Baumpension’ (retired tree) by the Naturschutzbund Austria, which protects old dying trees as habitat for fungi, moss and insects.
« limited fungi » is available at droog

A rare Austrian moth species is portrait in copper. As a huge swarm, the moths are flying towards a light bulb. Some single moths are placed randomly on the wall.
Each copper moth is numbered and represents one moth left in reality. Each swarm (lamp) is unique.
