« This is the Cake lamp! It´s inspired by a telescope (but ended up looking like a cake) and it uses its retractile function to control the amount ambient luminosity. Each layer is supposed to be available in several different colors, so each lamp shade could have a complete customizable look and color palette. It ´s supposed to be made in powder coated aluminum, with diffuse-reflective coating on the inner surfaces, to optimize luminosity propagation. »

Tham & Videgard Arkitekter created this Top Lamp for Zero.
A sheet of metal is folded into a pyramid-shape and is sealed with a layer of translucent plastic to diffuse the light. One of the corners can be tilted by the user, making it seem more like a pendant sculpture than a light.
TOP is delivered with a wire so that one of the corners can be tilted by the user to direct light in different angles.

« The young Milan-based designer Kensaku Oshiro used a traditional Japanese silk technique, usually employed for weaving kimonos, to create these lantern lights. Delicate and expertly hand-finished, the mesh structure makes for an ambient, mellow glow at the same time highlighting the finesse of the woven material. The powder-coated metal base, available in three colours, adds a contemporary note and, if you can’t bear to be parted from it, there’s even a small handle on top. »
