Another house from Jarmund/Vigsnaes AS Arkitekter. Situated in a quite dense suburban setting in Norway, the house twists dynamically between sheltering for privacy and opening up for angles of vistas. The central space of the house stretches between the morning light between the pines towards east, and the western horizon of the Oslo fjord.
The house is clad with painted wooden panels, outside and inside. Walls and ceilings on the first floor are finished in oak, while floor and walls of the ground floor are exposed concrete casted on site.

Set in Stavanger, Norway, and designed by Jarmund/Vigsnaes AS Arkitekter. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this house is carved into the terrain. This allows for an unobstructed ocean view from the public road at the rear and protects the building from the strong prevailing winds. The bedrooms are organised towards naturally sheltered outdoor spaces providing close-up views, while the living room is established as a glazed amphitheatre facing the horizon.

Another post about Norvegian design studio StokkeAusland again. We definitly love them.
« The double and single desk lamps explored the new possibilities using LED light fixtures. The thin profile allowed us to keep the clean and simple shape, close to the first sketches we did.
The double is for two people sharing a desk to have in between one another. »

« The Glass series consisting of a water carafe, a wine decanter and an old-fashioned and red wine glass, is the result of a collaboration between StokkeAustad and Frost Produkt. The project was initiated after a common wish to create timeless durable tools for preparing, serving and enjoying food. In addition to the glass series kitchen utensils, cutting board, a trivet, and candleholders has also been designed.
We wanted to create sturdy durable and lasting objects; lasting both in quality of material, and through an abiding form. The carafe and decanter have a large opening for pouring water and wine into them, and big easily maneuvered cork. The large neck of the opening is also used as a handle. The glasses take after the carafe in their straight lines, angles, and slight cone. The glass series are made of glass and turned oak. »
The series was awarded Best Cooks Kit, by Wallpaper Design award 2010.
